Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

sell the benefits of our industry to Britain, where better to start than the schools? That's exactly what Worcestershire-based haulier Taylors of Martley has done.

In conjunction with MAN, Taylors took 500 school children from Chantry High School in Martley on a day out to explain the transport business.

It was a chance to present some of the real facts about the truck industry, including its importance to the economy.

MANS general manager of marketing John Baker explains: "Everyone within the industry moans about how unfairly we are treated by the press, but what do we ever do about it? How can our image with the public improve if TV and newspapers constantly portray trucks as the enemy, without any response from us to balance this wildly inaccurate view?". Quite right too.

MAN hopes that this event will be the start of a series of presentations at schools throughout the country to help the next generation of road users understand how important road transport is for Britain.

"Our school presentation doesn't set out to dress up or glamourise the transport industry," says Baker. "It's designed to offer facts— facts that prove that our industry is vital to the economy. I believe this is an issue which should transcend all the normal commercial barriers, and I hope other manufacturers will join us in our efforts to spread the word."

Steve Taylor, managing director of Taylors, endorses this view: Our fleet of MANs is constantly seen on the road by the children of Martley, so this presentation provided an opportunity for them to see our hardware at first hand. I'm sure it has helped them understand both the importance, and the potential dangers, of the trucks they see around them."

Local police and safety officers also attended the event to offer the children advise on the dangers of road traffic and the particular hazards of trucks due to their size and weight.
