• A front-mounted power take-off for Ford D Series commercial vehicles has been introduced by the Ford Special Vehicle Order Department. The new p-t-o, which will be fitted to vehicles during production, is designed to operate with a Sunstrand hydraulic pump. As with other p-t-o equipment already available drive shafts and full pump-mounting facilities are incorporated.
The new p-t-o has a recommended retail price of £65 and is available on D500-0800 models with the exception of 7ft 10in wheelbase tractive units and 9ft wheelbase tippers. Two versions are offered for fitment with Ford fourand six-cylinder diesel engines.
