• After hearing the evidence of Mr. V. G. Brown, managing director of Continuous Haulage Contractors Ltd., Bury, the North Western deputy LA, Mr. A. H. Jolliffe, sitting at Manchester last week. told Mr. Brown there was no support for the application. In consequence Mr. Jolliffe granted a shortterm licence, for three months, for the vehicles applied for, with conditions: "Road making materials and excavated materials for S. L. Parkinson, Ltd., within 25 miles of base.
