• About to go public is the Deptfordbased haulage company, J & H Transport Group Ltd. Burston and Texas Commerce Bank will handle the issue and Joseph Sebag and Co. will act as brokers.
A father and son concern—Mr F. A. Jeune is president and Mr Hedley Jeune is chairman and managing director—the Group carries out its own haulage work, subcontracting return loads for heavy vehicles. It also stores customers' goods prior to dispatch, charging for the rental.
Headquarters are at Croft Street, Deptford, London SE8. Depots, warehouses and offices are spread over the country in places such as Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Coventry, Dunstable, Felixstowe, Glasgow. Hull, Ips wich, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield and Southampton.
In addition to its local services, the group operates trunk services between major cities, including eight daily express runs between the Dunstable area and Manchester and Liverpool. Total tonnage moved through the various depots is claimed to be one million tons of goods a year.
Last year's profits were £170,000 on a £2im turnover.
