Federation is to give up its campaign for large-scale road building in favour of "quality of service from the highway system of the UK".
"There is much that can be done to ensure the roads we already have are used more efficiently," says BRF director Richard Diment.
This move, in the run-up to the White Paper on transport policy, indicates that road construction companies within the BRF no longer expect extensive road building from this or any other government.
) After 66 years the federation is to drop its full title; in future it will only be known by the abbreviation BRF.
