Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A Northumberland haulier is facing charges of stealing a £40,000 Volvo truck.

Victor Thompson, 49, of Newton-by-the-Sea, Northumberland, appeared before Ainwick magistrates last week with truck driver James Hewitson, 54, who is accused of handling the stolen truck.

The truck, belonging to haulier Richard Aynsley, was allegedly taken from an industrial estate in Alnwick on 4 March. Hewitson's handling charge relates to the period 3-17 March, when £5,000 worth of the truck's parts were found at Felton, Northumberland. Magistrates adjourned the case until 10 June for committal to Newcastle Crown Court.

111 CM's Crimeline has notched another success. Haulier Gwyn Owen has recovered a trailer stolen from a customer's quarry last month, thanks to a CM reader (see Crimeline page 40).
