Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

N First I would like to congratulate the organisers of Truckfest '92 on another highly successful and enjoyable event. However, I would like to make a couple of points which I hope they will accept as legitimate and constructive criticism.

On the conditions of entry for vehicles attending Truckfest it states that vehicles must be on site by 20:00hrs on Saturday, with judging to start on Sunday morning. Yet, as happened last year, judging in the vintage section did not commence until Monday morning, when several vehicles that had taken part in Sunday's London to Brighton run honoured us with their presence. I timed the arrival of two vehicles and it was 11:25hrs when they were driven on to the showground.

To add insult to injury, the latecomers again won the first and second prizes in the section, leaving the majority of vintage vehicle owners somewhat disgruntled, to say the least.

The winners are operators of large fleets, local to Peterborough, whose vehicles have won, maybe rightly so, in previous years. This is no encouragement for the preservationists and enthusiasts who do not have the facilities of these companies and attend for both days having travelled a considerable distance to do so.

One company, for example, sent a beautifully restored and historically important vehicle all the way from Aberdeen without any recognition.

If we are to have conditions of entry, let them apply to all — not just those who have no commercial clout.

If you are prepared to allow vehicles to attend for one day only, then they should not be considered for an award. I'm afraid that, unless the same conditions are applied to one and all, there will be a sparse display of preserved and vintage vehicles at Truckfest '93.
