Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Vehicle Inspectorate has introduced a customer charge account aimed at making it easier for hauliers with complicated accounts systems to pay for VI services.

It asks hauliers for a minimum deposit of £250 to open an account, which can be used to pay for annual tests, re-tests, brake and headlamp performance checks, publications and technical training courses.

An additional benefit is given to light goods vehicle operators — discounts are given to operators which put more than 50 light vehicles through class four, five or seven tests within a year.

To open an account contact your local goods vehicle testing station or the Customer Accounts Unit, PO Box 41, Welcombe House, The Strand, Swansea SA1 1ZS. Contact (0792) 454267.
