General )tors Truck and Bus Group has cen a further step forward with a appointment of a general 3nager to manage Bedford.

He is J. T. Battenberg III, a 40ar-old American who has en managing director of Antarp-based General Motors intinental since 1980. Mr Battenberg is known throughout GM as "JT" and has been with the corporation since 1961 when he was recruited as an engineering trainee. He spent 10 years in the labour relations, production and work standards departments of Chevrolet Car and Truck Assembly plants, before becoming industrial engineering superintendent with the GM Assembly Division at St Louis, Missouri.
