THE new managing director of Southern BRS, Mr John Farrant, made his debut before 200 customers from Sussex, Surrey and Kent at a seminar in Maidstone on Monday.
He told the seminar that while 1975 had been a better year for BRS than 1974, this year, 1976, would be a "year of real expansion, especially in truck rental." Mr Farrant said the company was planning a massive development programme.
Mr Roger Trigell who is the product manager, distribution and consultancy at BRS Group, presented a computer programing demonstration and told the seminar that it was hoped to introduce a mini computer to a BRS distribution branch this year.
During the question time which followed Mr Trigell said that BRS maintenance programmes and other management expertise would be available for sale as a company service this year.
When Mr Farrant was asked why BRS companies purchased foreign vehicles, he said there were three reasons. 1, Customer preference; 2, Full order books for some British marques; 3, Market assessment of foreign makes.
