Wolverhampton
R. FOSTER was the winner of the Wolverhampton CMLDoY contest at the weekend. He beat 80 competitors to go through to the next stage in the competition.
Class A: D. Davies, (Unigate), 108 penalties; Class B: L. Johnson, (Midlands BRS), 69 penalties; Class C: M. Richards, (Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries), 46 penalties; Class D: R. Foster, (Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries), 70 penalties; Class E: V. Green, (Unigate), 74 penalties; Class F: K. Trow, (Goodyear), 37 penalties; Class G: B. C. Jarman, (Midlands BRS), 57 penalties; Class H: F. D. R. Minton, (Bestobell Paints), 82 penalties.
Birmingham
CLASS winners at the Birmingham heat of the CMLDoY were : Class A: D. Payton (Hawley's Bakery); Class B: A. Dainty, (Texaco); Class C: A. Tolley, (Procter and Gamble); Class D: J. Short, (Midlands tiRS); Class E: D. G. Jelfs, (Post Office); Class F: J. Williams, (Midlands BRS); Class G: H. Gartshore, (Allports Ltd); Class H: R. Withers, (Midland BRS).
Torbay
TWO women drivers were among the contestants at the Torbay heat of the CM Lorry Driver of the Year Contest but the ladies failed in their bid to win the heat.
Winners were : Class A: R. Hutton, (Post Office), 35 penalties; Class B: P. Webber, (BP Oil), 78 penalties; Class C: G. Yeoman, (Heavy Transport Ltd), 53 penalties; Class D: B. Dudley, (Heavy Transport Ltd), 83 penalties; Class E: H. Walker, (Heavy Transport Ltd), 81 penalties.
Class F: P. Bennellick, (Conoco), 58 penalties; Class G: P. Grose, (Heavy Transport Ltd), 90 penalties; Class H: P. Mann, (Shell Oil), 46 penalties. Overall winner was R. Hutton.
