AN ex police officer Mr F. Topham, left London last Friday to travel to Tehran in search of stolen and abandoned vehicles.

He is employed by Barking Investigations Ltd, a subsidiary of Barking Garage and Engineering Co Ltd, which has been hiring vehicles to owner-drivers for Middle East traffic for the past three years.

Mr Topham's trip began producing results on Saturday when he found a Scania abandoned with a loaded York trailer (chassis number is NBR 3311034) at Sonneberg in Germany.
