The philosophy of profit—increasing business and reducing costs—will be the opening subject of Mr Robert Drimsley's paper, but a major part will deal with the practical aspects of preparing budgets, applying them and interpreting the results effectively. Monthly operating accounts will be examined in particular. Mr Grimsley believes it is essential for budget responsibilities to be shared with supervisors, 'foremen and section leaders. his paper will also cover vehicle purchase, the place of depreciation, and an annual operating plan.

FIAC. spent 25 years in industry closely involved with the practical uses of management accounting: he had a particular interest in the application of budgetary control of fleet management.
