Eric Tindall, director-general of the RTITB,
presented a commemorative plaque on Tuesday to G. Cartwright, 10,000th trainee to pass
through Motec 1 since it opened 30 months ago. Mr Cartwright is an hgv driving instructor with R. Hanson Ltd, of Wakefield, Yorkshire.
W. G. King. docks manager at Swansea,will become docks manager. Swansea and Port Talbot, a new post, from July 1 under a BTDB reorganization plan. Sydney Evans, Port Talbot's docks manager, is retiring on June 30. Port Talbot docks are scheduled to close to traffic on January 1 1972.
J. Gilbody has been appointed area sales manager, north-western area, BRS Parcels Ltd. Mr Gilbody was previously assistant to the area manager.
The Hon Arthur Lawson Johnston has been re-elected president of the National Association of Warehouse Keepers. J. G. G. Bernard (H.G. Taylor Haulage Ltd), Stowmarket, becomes chairman, and G. E. Dodd (Alfred Bell Ltd) is vice-chairman.
Leslie H. Boorer has been appointed UK sales manager of Winn International Containers Ltd. Mr Boorer was previously a sales executive with Compressed Paper Packing Ltd.
'K. H. J. Sinnott, 54, has been appointed sales and service director of Dennis Brothers Ltd, Guildford. Mr Sinnott joins Dennis from the Associated Engineering Group where he was managing director of AE Export Services Ltd. During his career in the former British Motor Corporation, Mr Sinnott was successively sales manager of Morris Motors, managing director of BMC (Scotland) Ltd and sales director of BMC Tractor Division.
