• Mr John Peyton, Minister for Transport Industries, is to introduce "as soon as possible" legislation to ensure that foreign vehicles entering Britain comply with British regulations on size, weight and documentation.
However, writes a CM Correspondent, a compromise may be arranged for oversize Continental lorries to be allowed to proceed to a lorry marshalling area where the loads can be redistributed into smaller vehicles.
