Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Hoveringham, Quarries

Qthe same day, also at Bristol. applications from four hauliers for Contract A licences to haul goods for Stowlield Quarries Ltd. were refused.

The Licensing Authority, giving his decision after the inquiry held in March, said Hoveringham Quarries Ltd., who had since acquired the share capital of Stowfield Quarries, had withdrawn their support to the four applicants.

Mr. Samuel-Gibbon said there had been a number of developments in the case since the inquiry was held. After the inquiry it came to his notice that there had been a change of control of Stowlield Quarries, which had now become a subsidiary of Hoveringham.

When I heard this I was inclined to think it was unfortunate we were not given this information at the inquiry he said.

In a letter to the LA, Hoveringham Quarries said there had been a change of policy and as a result had withdrawn their support for the four hauliers.

Mr. Samuel-Gibbon added: "It is quite clear in this instance that none of the applications can be granted." He did not want to say more than was necessary with regard to the matter. There were other questions over which he had no jurisdiction.
