AT the first meeting of the new national council of the Road Haulage Association in London last week, Mr. A. R. Butt (Morris Transport Ltd., Sutton Goldfield) was re-appointed chairman; this will be his second term, The council also re-elected as vice-chairmen Mr. H. Bell, Mr. R. Clifford, Mr.. J. A. Murly and Mr. P. H. R. Turner, The chairman and vice-chairmen, together with the immediate past chairman, Mr. D. 0. Good, are ex officio members of the executive committee which was appointed for 1965-66 at last week's council meeting. The area representatives on this committee are:— A. Dunn (Scotland); R. Durham (Northern); W. Bridge (Yorkshire, Leeds); G. H. Pears (Yorkshire, Sheffield); G. Reader (Yorkshire, Hull); A. Atkinson (North Western, Eastern); R. S. Heaton (North Western, Western); J. E. Kirby (East Midland); D. R. Miers (West Midland); R. G. Gordon (South Wales); F. E. Russett (Western); H. F. Whitton (Devon and Corn
wall); R. C. Burnett (Southern); R. B.
Brittain (Eastern); R. Taylor and E. W. Voller (Metropolitan and South Eastern).
Additional members of the executive committee are
R. Atkins, F. Baker, W. Bingley, R. G. Crowther, R. H. Farmer, J. Holden, R. N. Ingram, L. C. Matthews, J. B. Mitchell, N. T. O'Reilly, F. Rudman, A. Scott, J. P. Wells and N. R. Wynn.
As a contract member, Mr. H. Elliott. represents the BRS Federation companies.
The finance committee was elected also, with the national :chairman and vice-chairmen as ex officio members, together with R. G. Crowther, D. 0. Good, R. N. Ingram, I, B. Mitchell and J. P. Wells.
New Sub-Area A new sub-area to be known as the North Bucks is to be formed within the Road Haulage Association. It will be an amalgamation of the existing Aylesbury and Bletchley sub-areas.
