WENT to press, FairFuelUK (I,I,UK) supporter the Association of Pallet Networks (APN) called for a cut in fuel duty, saying a 3p reduction would slice more than ilm from the collective fuel bill of the 600-plus pallet hauliers it represents; while each lp increase would add nearly £500,000 of cost, hitting investment and job creation.
"This tax saving, as the 1,I,UK campaign has repeatedly shown to the Treasury, will stimulate the UK economy and bring more tax revenue from growth, easily covering any shortfall to the government," said APN chairman Paul Sanders.
