Johnson said every truck driver should be forced to attend a cycle awareness CPC course (CM 14 March pill). What a joke! I've done one of those courses and found it to be the biggest waste of seven hours. In the morning classroom session we learned plenty about how great cycling is for your health and your bank balance, and bugger all about how to interact on the road with cyclists.
During the afternoon's practical session, all I learned was how unfit I am. Apologies if I sound like a broken record, but it's not truck drivers who need mandatory training — it's cyclists! I strongly suggest that Boris attends one of these courses himself before spouting this rubbish.
What annoys you most about this scene? Is it the wobbly wheels, the illegal number plate, the driver's inability to pull over and let motorists pass, the lack of lights and indicators, the dangerously unsecured load or the fact that it's running on red diesel? Will Shiers
