Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

building is no exception. There are plenty of books written about the British truck industry, but with a few notable exceptions they tend to be by journalists—rather than active participants. So Harold Nancollis's "Foden-My Life with the Company" is all the more enjoyable for having been written by a man who Spent 45 years working for the company with the famous kite mark.

Nancollis worked for Foden from 1937 to 1982 in a career which began with an engineering apprenticeship and finished in senior management.

The beautifully-prepared hardback is packed throughout its 164 pages with all the high and lows and dramas that have affected the great British manufacturer.

From the early days of steam and the ERF breakaway, through the war years and the fifties and sixties right up to the crisis of 1980 when the company was eventually bought under the Paccar banner, it's all here with superb illustrations and a highly readable and engaging text, packed with fascinating "not a lot of people know that" facts.

My favourite section is Foden at war when—but then I'd be giving the game away. "fodenMy life with the Company" is available from Venture Publications, P.O. Box 17, Glossop, Derbyshire SK 13 9FA (Tel:01457 861508) priced at £19.95.

If you want the facts, get them from a man who was there.
