• Seat's Inca high-cube van is now available after a two-month delay.
Initially there's just one model, powered by a VW 1,9-litre indirect injection diesel producing 63hp (48kW) at 4,400rpm and 911bft (123Nm) at 2,20Orpm.
Included in its £7,895 (ex-VAT) basic price is a three-year unlimited distance warranty, power steering, driver's airbag, immobiliser, full bulkhead, plastic load liner, rear screen heater, rear wash/wipe and radio cassette player.
With a 550kg payload and 2.4m3 load volume, Seat has the Ford Courier and Vauxhall Combo in its sights, undercutting both by at least £730. Future plans include a 60hp 1.4-litre petrol engine, 1.9-litre direct injection diesel and passenger-carrying Kombi model, which could all appear in the UK—in time. A brief drive shows the Inca to offer good refinement, solid build quality with good performance and handling.
