GRIMON Dr one of my vourite MPs, has strong views
London bus subsidies and ctortionate fares. Writing in `le Daily Telegraph, he cornaineri that his constituents on rkney and Shetland were )orer than Londoners and sufred from even higher transport larges.
"Yet," he said, "they have ?,en contributing year in year Jt to the fares of those who toil one of the richest cities in the orld. An added insult is that the andon-based oil companies
charge us lop a gallon more for petrol landed on our shores than it costs in London.
"However, we are a generous people and realise that it is a common failure of the Welfare State that the poor help the rich."
