• The North Western Traffic Commissioners on Wednesday approved Manchester Corporation's application to increase fares of the traditional twoman operated buses while those on o-m-o and Minimax services will remain unchanged (CM January 24 1969), The increases would bring in £772,000 per annum to offset an estimated deficit of £977,230 for the year ending March 31 1970. The fid fare for stages 1 and 2 will remain but stages 3 and 4 will become 9d. and all other fares will be increased by 3d.
