Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANEW commercial model and modifications to existing products are announced by Daimler-Benz A.G., Untertfirkheim, Germany. The new model is an oil-engined 10-cwt, van, based on the successful Mercedes-Benz 170 DS private car.

The engine is a four-cylindered unit of 1.7-litre capacity with a maximum power output of 40 b.h.p. at 3,200 r.p.m. A fuel-consumption rate of 44 m.p.g. is claimed for the car version. The van has a wheelbase of 9 ft. 4 ins., a track of 4 ft. 3 ins, at the front and 4 ft. 8 ins, at the rear, and the body is conventional in appearance, with external headlamps, and normal mudwings and running boards.

The L 5000 chassis will in future have a new oil engine, type OM 67/8. The fuel-consUmption rate of the engine fitted in the L 6600 6-ton chassis has, it is claimed, been reduced by 15 per cent. by improved injection equipment. All Mercedes models, from the 3-ton lorry to the large buses, may now be obtained with an engine brake.
