TRADE recession is partly responsible for 550 vehicles being taken off the road. in the Northwestern Division of the` Road Haulage Executive. At December 31 last there were 4,736 motor vehicles and 444 trailers in the division, besides 623 horsed vehicles.
A spokesman at the Executive's London headquarters told "The Commercial Motor" that it was normal for vehicles surplus to -requirements to be, Withdrawn, as often happened after the businesses of many free hauliers became amalgamated under State ownership.
