Ryder has won a 40-month rental contract for the provision of trucks, tractors and trailers to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in the UK. The contract, worth approximately £3.5m per year, started last month and will see the rental firm providing all types of LGVs above 7.5 tonnes, as well as refrigerated 3.5and 7.5-tonners. In addition, Ryder will supply specialist equipment such as tankers, horseboxes, truck-mounted cranes and ammunition carriers. The MoD says that Ryder won the contract tender “against stiff competition”.
