TRANSPORT LAWYERS at Backhouse Jones – Ian Jones, James and Jonathon Backhouse – are taking to the road this summer driving a 2002 Ford Mondeo from Lille to Barcelona on behalf of the Banger Rally.
The Backhouse Boys will be competing against the Gloag Girls, a team founded by Ann Gloag (right), the entrepreneur behind Stagecoach, but both are raising money for the abandoned baby unit at Kenya’s Children’s Home in Nairobi.
Barmy to Barcelona takes in the Swiss and Italian Alps as part of a sevencountry route that finishes in the Catalan capital.
The rules require the team to complete the journey in a car worth £300 or less – the Backhouse Boys have christened theirs the Back Mobile.
Jones says: “Seven countries in four days is a big challenge for any car. I am confident we have a banger to be reckoned with and we are definitely up for the challenge to beat the girls!” If you wish to donate, text BBBB98 £5 to 70070.
