Fast work
One Wednesday, Aaron & Partners was contacted by a commercial solicitor acting for a transport company over a business purchase – the completion deadline was Friday. An application for an interim O-licence had been refused on the grounds of previous compliance issues. Culpin arranged a chambers meeting with the TC for Monday afternoon and secured an interim licence with a substantial grant of vehicles, with the matter to be formally decided at a later PI.
The TC then invited written submissions from the parties involved with a view to avoiding a further hearing. Aaron & Partners carried out a review of the operator’s compliance systems and secured the application without need for a further hearing.
Helping a driver
A driver operating under domestic hours’ rules could not produce his digitach card at a roadside check and received a fixed penalty. Aaron & Partners wrote to Vosa on the driver’s behalf and was able to get the fixed penalty rescinded. The prohibition was removed from the driver’s record, which helped his employer maintain a good OCRS.
