• The European Road Federation has called for a rethink on a proposed four-year transport research programme which is expected to cost some 17.5bn euros. It claims that the EC wants to divert too many resources away from what should be transport priorities. The ERF is calling an MEPs to direct resources at road transport instead of intermodal transport, which it dismisses as "outdated".
