• French transport giant Norbert Dentressangle faced Eastern Traffic Commissioner Geoffrey Simms last week over alleged drivers' hours and tachograph offences committed in the UK and abroad. The TO was also considering an application for an extra operating centre at Leighton Buzzard and a licence increase of 65 vehicles and 75 trailers, Traffic examiner Amanda Gee said that an examination of a month's tacho charts from the company's Aylesbury depot had revealed 76 offences by 29 drivers.
The company's case was heard in private to prevent its defence being prejudiced in pending prosecutions. The IC is to give his decision at a later date.
