• A Stevenage bus driver has been jailed for six months after he was found to be more than five times over the drink driving limit. He was arrested in his double-decker after passengers telephoned the police.
Trucks race on
• Gerd Korber, driving a Phoenix/MAN 19.462 came first in the Class "C" final of the Swedish Truck Superprix at Mantorp Park last weekend. Second was Thomas Hegmann in a Mercedes-Benz 1450LS while Slim Borgudd was third in a Volvo/White.
Training team
• PL Workforce, the Bristol-based training division of transport company, the Peter Lane Group, is teaming up with the Industrial Society to provide HGV1 training for unemployed inner city residents.
