• Kelmac Developments, which was set up two years ago to sell Japanese-built Hino trucks, has gone into liquidation after recording losses of 2367,000 in the past 12 months.
David Comey of Cork Gully and Brian Mills of Booth White in London, have been appointed joint liquidators. They will investigate the affairs of the Perry Barr, Birmingham-based company which ceased trading in March, Kelmac was also involved in running two other Hino outlets in Bristol and Glasgow — which closed last September.
Corney says the company has current liabilities of more than 2150,000, and the 100 creditors are unlikely to be paid in full, though some cash will be available. "It is a complex situation involving an acrimonious dispute between the two directors who established Kelmac — Patrick Kelly and Clive McNally — and it
will take time to resolve."
Kelmac Developments was originally established as a building company in February 1988 and a few months later set up the truck dealership by the side of a container depot in Perry Barr run by McNally, who also operates an AWD outlet, Mac Commercials, in Bristol. In mid-1989 the dayto-day running of the business changed from McNally to Kelly as a result of a dispute between them.
