Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A highly efficient system of testing and servicing commercial vehicles has been introduced by L. F. Dove (C.V.) Ltd., BMC and Guy distributors of Croydon, in its new £100,000 workshop at Imperial Way, Purley Way, Croydon, which was opened on Monday by Mr. Peter Walker, Opposition spokesman on Transport.

The system, it is claimed cuts off-the-road time for testing and servicing by 50 per cent and Dove is to offer a £100 guarantee that any vehicle that passes its pre-test will also pass the official MoT test, which comes into operation at the end of this year. Dove is also offering periodic testing and routine servicing on an appointment basis.

The Dove pre-test plan involves a 1-hour examination carried out a month before the official MoT test. The pre-test, which is to Ministry standards, takes place on one of three Castrol heavy-duty flow-line docks, the other two being used for servicing.

Brakes are tested on the Triangle heavy duty "B" type tester as used by the Ministry. There is also a Kismet head-lamp aligner fitted on rails, Tetroc heavy pit jacks, a Hartridge injector tester, and quick reel dispensers have been strategically positioned to increase productivity.

The new workshop gives a covered area of over 14,000 sq. ft. and has a capacity to service and pre-test 28 vehicles a day. In addition up to 20 vehicles can be handled in the heavy repair section.
