FRANCE has dropped its adherence to the vehicle weights and dimensions limits agreed at the 1960 convention of the E.C.M.T. On Monday the French Minister of Transport agreed with the E.E.C. Economic and Social Committees recent recommendation that a single-axle weight of 13 metric tons and a tandemaxle limit of 19 metric tons be allowed on " Community " roads, and that road trains of up to 18 m. overall length should be allowed. Only Germany now adheres tc the E.C.M.T. figures.'
