Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

GLENN FREIGHT (North West) has been bought by a Lancashire warehousing and storage company in a pre-pack administration sale.

Administrators at recovery business MCR were appointed to the Liverpool haulier, which held a licence to operate 24 vehicles, on 22 June. According to administrators, a pre-pack sale to Store It UK was organised that afternoon, despite Glenn Freight director Alan Joyce telling CM he was still looking for a buyer (CM 7 July).

An MCR spokesman says: “The company went into administration following cashlow issues, the recession and tough trading conditions. Although the company ceased trading on 22 June, it was decided that the best route out was a pre-pack admin sale, which was completed on 22 June.” “Some people were made redundant when it went into administration in the morning,” he adds. “The remaining ones were transferred over.” The spokesman adds that there is no connection between the owners of Store It UK in Preston and Glenn Freight (North West) and that Joyce is now an employee. Store It UK director Tim Tabern, who is also a director of St Helens haulage contractor W Tabern and Sons, declines to comment on the sale. Joyce was unavailable for comment. Glenn Freight (North West) has no afiliation with Glenn Freight Services Crawley, West Sussex.
