1 The Post Office is to inject 10 million — including 22 milon on new vehicles — into its latapost parcels service over le next two to three years. This is in response to growig competition in the express elivery market, says Royal ail Parcels managing director lick Nelson. The Post Office rill build 17 network centres round the UK., create 200
jobs and "double business".
It is enlarging its handling unit at Luton and opening 11 air routes, with an air hub at Manchester. It plans to attract bigger parcels and boost its lOarri next day service. No announcements of specific vehicle orders have been made, but new vehicles will range from 7.5-tonne vans to 32tonne artics.
