Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• South Wales bus operator AE &FR Brewer has acquired Llynfi Motor Services and now has a fleet of almost 50 buses as a result of the takeover.

Both companies operate in the Caerau and Maesteg area, and most of Llynfi's operations involve local bus services, school contracts and private hire work. Llynfi also has a travel agency shop in Maesteg.

The travel agency will now trade as part of the Travelwise group of travel agencies while certain Llynfi limited-stop and school operations in the Port Talbot area will be undertaken by Brewers' associated company, South Wales Transport.

Most of Llynfi's staff has transferred to Brewers or to the Travelwise agency.

AE&FR Brewer is a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Welsh Services, a holding company which also acquired South Wales Transport from the National Bus Company as part of the privatisation programme. Brewer joined the United Welsh Group earlier this year. Brewer's managing director Bev Fowles says: "We are delighted to see Brewer going from strength to strength, particularly as the latest operations will ensure the continuance of facilities which have been provided for many years by Llynfi."
