• Isuzu's 4x4 Trooper Commercial van will be offered with a 2.8-litre direct-injection turbodiesel engine from next month.
Introduced only a year ago, the van is based on the Isuzu short wheelbase estate and the company claims that the new engine gives the vehicle 34% more power and 35% more torque than the Trooper's previous 2.3-litre diesel engine.
To handle the extra output — 71kW at 3,700rpm — the van has also been given an uprated five-speed gearbox and a dual-range transfer box.
With an unladen weight of 1,560kg, the vehicle has a 740kg carrying capacity and prices start at 29,600,
