WINSTON WRIGHT has been appointed general manager, Assembly Division, Volvo Trucks (Great Britain). He has responsibility for all engineering development together with truck and bus building operations at the Irvine plant.
Mr Wright joined the organisatin as engineering manager in 1974; since 1975 he has held the position of chief engineer and from early 1983 has been chief engineer acting general manager.
Before joining the Volvo organisation he was with Vauxhall Motors for 22 years, during which time he was involved with Bedford Commercial Vehicles development and experimental engineering and transmission engineering for Vauxhall cars.
Charles Hunter has been appointed area sales executive, south for Volvo Bus after nine years with the Moseley Group of Companies.
Wincanton Contracts Ltd have appointed James Chamberlain to the position of contracts manager. Mr Chamberlain operates in Southampton. He reports to Geoff Mitchell, Wincanton's sales and marketing director.
Before joining Wincanton, he was a customer service executive with Hertz for a short period and prior to this was the branch manager at Security Pacific Finance.
