M ERCIAL MOTOR'S increasingly ce sful Livery Competition struck its St successful note so far last week en the awards for the own-account ss were presented.
r 100 representatives of the inAs were on hand at Reed House, ea Hy, London to see Dickie Duncalfe Foods receive the silver salver im CM publishing director John 30 shank for his attractive Bisto Kids livery on a Ford D-series vehicle.
An additional award was presented by Hugh Featherstone of the Freight Transport Association to the highest-placed FTA member. He drew the party's attention to the advice of Dale Carnegie, who said that the most attractive feature of a dog was the way it wagged its tail.
"A lorry cannot wag its tail," said Mr Featherstone, "but its livery does smile."
