of your readers have had experience of Michelinmade tubeless rims cracking between the stud holes.
We operate a 21/2-year-old Ford DT24 1 7 6x4 tipper and have recently had to replace seven of the eight rear rims, two of which actually broke up on the vehicle.
Now that the truck is out of guarantee, the Ford distributors have put us in touch direct with Ford Motors, who so far have not committed themselves.
Some operators here, we are told, will not buy a truck fitted with these tubeless rims, but insist on split rims instead because of this fault, which is apparently put down to over loading by the makers.
If this is so, then surely the wheel must have a very narrow safety margin?
