DIAL-a-ride bug services in the UK are the subject of a st published by Cranfield Centre for Transpot Studies.
The purpose of the report, which was made in collabor with the Transport and Road Research Laboratory, is to a the performance, passengers, revenue and costs of Dial-2 systems.
The study, which was carried out by P. R. Oxley, conc that the systems cannot expect to achieve financial viabilit: do offer social benefits to users, although some of these ar exclusive to Dial-a-ride and most are difficult to quantify.
The future of Dial-a-Ride depends on whether it can o service that performs as well as alternative public tran systems in the same circumstances and whether it can o service at a net cost that is justified by its non-mon advantage.
