A NEW tractive unit, the FT 2300 DHRE, has been introduced by DAF Trucks (GB) Ltd, now in its sixth year of operation in the British market. Plated for 34 tons gross in a 4 X 2 configuration, the new model is fitted with the DAF DHRE 825 engine, an 8.25 litre (503cuin) six-cylinder in-line turbocharged unit which develops I56kW (209bhp) at 2,400rpm and a maximum torque of 694 Nm (215Ibft) at only 1,600rpm.
