/JAY witnessed new peaks in proIV" duction and exports by the British commercial vehicle industry. Output rose to an average of 5,560 units a week. During the month, 22,242 vehicles were manufactured, of which 14,822 were for export and 7,420 for the home market.

Although the output of single-deck motorbuses substantially exceeded that of double-deckers, the home market took more double-deckers than single-deckers. Battery-electrics numbered 639.

In the five months ended Nifa,. 45,07,0 agricultural tractors, 312 pedestriancontrolled electric vehicles and 2,684 works trucks were produced.

The value of exports, during May, of commercial vehicles, including dumpers and dump trucks, industrial trucks and trailers, was £5,984,997. Units shipped numbered 14,761. During the first five months of the year, 62,015 vehicles, valued at £25,703,080, were exported.

In addition, 1.373 used commercial vehicles (£1.077,110), 29,738 agricultural tractors (10,486.940) and parts and accessories to the value of £20,190,638 were shipped.
