KNOWN as the JN tipping trailer is a design of which we give a diagrammatic representation on this page. The invention is that of Mr. J. L. Neane, 25, Tennyson Avenue, New Malden, Surrey. He will be pleased to hear from any persons who might be interested in the manufacture of this machine.

For coupling to the tractor is the drawbar (DB), jointed at the points Pl, P2 and P3. A vertical member (V) also is pivoted at P3 and normally liee against the front of trailer body (TB), to which it is sebured by a catch (C) while travelling. At the upper end of V is the connection between it and the thrust member (TM), which runs to the point P2 on the drawbar. Other types of drawbar are considered. From the joint P1 a vertical link (14 is connected to the thrust member by the pin (S). The last-named serves to lock all the linkage of the drawbar, thereby making it rigid while travelling. If the tractor be backed with the pin (S) in position, the trailer merely reverses its direction, but if the pin (S) be withdrawn and catch C released, the linkhge assumes the position shown in the diagram by chain lines, thus raising the front of the trailer. body and discharging the load.

Should it be desired, suitable attachments may be provided on the trailer body (TB) for coupling to the spokes of the wheels, thereby preventing their rotation except as the body rises. The only hand operation is the release of the pin and catch.
