Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Mercedes will launch its highroof Eurocab in the UK later in the year. Right-hand-drive production will be in "small numbers" according to David Thomas director, commercial vehicles, at Mercedes-Benz (UK): about 50 a year will be built.

The Eurocab offers 2.1m of headroom over the footwells with 0.86m headroom in the bottom bunk and 0.63m in the top. Eurocab adds 75kg to the weight of a Mercedes tractive unit: it will be available on L and the wider G cabs, but Mercedes may decide to restrict its availability to its higher-powered (vee-eight-engined) tractive units.

Both bunks are raised to increase the storage space below and there is additional lockable storage space over the windscreen and over both doors. The higher roof is fitted with side windows and curtains. Price will be fixed nearer the launch.

German rival MAN has also launched its right-hand-drive high-roof cab, six months later than scheduled. The glass-fibre top will be available on F90 372, 422 and 502 tractive units. The twin-bunk "Roadhaus" cab offers 2.17m of standing headroom over the footwells. Headroom in the bunks is 0.89m in the lower bunk with 0.83m in the top.

Features include double glazed and tinted side windows with roller blinds, additional lockable storage compartments, electric tilt-and-slide sun-roof, hanging wardrobe, luxury driver's seat, independent night heater and electric windows.

MAN says the Roadhaus option increases the tractive unit's kerbweight by 75kg. The cab will add £4,380 (ex-VAT) to the F90's price tag and is available straight away.
