• Two British bodybuilders, Sparshatts of Portsmouth and Econolite of Dereham, have sold special bodies to Norway and the Netherlands.
Flytte Services of Stavanger has taken an award-winning Sparshatts Sidewalker body for removal work after managing director Elfin Moen saw one at the British Association of Removers conference last year.
The 5.8r:it-long 33.6m3 curtain-sided body has two lockable rear doors and drop side-flaps with box-section support struts and non-slip ramps designed to allow easy access in narrow streets.
For household goods loaded conventionally, the body features aluminium tie-rail frames which are hinged at the top and lock into position. When larger bulk items are carried, the tierails can be swung up and secured against the roof.
Bestebreurtje Track BV of Barendrech in the Netherlands, which assembles Econolite bodies on Mazda 2200 and 3500 chassis, has sold its first Econolite-bodied Daf 800 (Roadrunner) chassis to Honda.
The dry-freight body is made from 17.5mm GRP/ plywood panels with a Sasmo diamond floor. The roof is a blue GRP panel. The body has radiused cant rails for stability.
