Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ENCOURAGED by the sale of more than 25 lorries as the result of its success in last year's Le Mans speed event, Leyland Vehicles Industrial entered the punishing 7,500-mile ParisDakar rally, which is due to finish in Senegal today (January 21).

The entry is a Scammell 6x6 with Rolls-Royce 330bhp turbocharged engine, which has reached 84mph at a total weight of 17 tonnes. Making sure that there was no Mark Thatchertype furore, Phil Smyth, a Scammell engineer, has been watching over the outfit from a grandstand seat in a chartered aircraft while the lorry lurched over some of the worst terrain in North Africa.
