He joined the company in 1969 as assistant depot manager in Shrewsbury and four years later became engineering manager for South Wales. Ian Brown is the new financial director, moving from Group financial officer based at parent National Freight Consortium's headquarters in Bedford.

He joined National Carriers seven years ago as a regional finance manager in Scotland, moving to the NFC head office in 1980.

He moved to Kings Cross in 1968 as branch engineer and then in October that year became Fleetcare area manager. In September 1983 he was made fleet engineer.

Mr Snelson becomes the area fleet engineer based at Warrington. He was previously fleet engineer at the same base.

Before his promotion to fleet engineer he was an area Fleetcare manager. He joined Fleetcare in 1969 as a senior technical assistant.
