Panthers for Southport: Southport Corporation transport committee has accepted the tender of Leyland Motors Ltd. for the supply of 12 Panther rearunderfoor-engined single-deckers at a fixed price of £3,049 15s. per chassis. Quotations are to be invited for the fitting of bodywork to the above chassis.

Bahamas for Ipswich: Ipswich Corporation transport committee has accepted the tenders of AEC Ltd. for four Reliance 6MU2RA chassis at a cost of £2,638 each and of Massey Bros. (Pemberton) Ltd. for four single-deck bus bodies at a cost of £2,965 each.

Kenning Extends at Bathgate: Extensions to the coachwork factory at Bathgate are to be made by The Kenning Motor Group. These alterations, which will result in a 21,000 sq. ft_ extension to the present paint and body shop, have now started and are estimated to cost around £55,000.

Taskers Expansion: Because of increasing demand for semi-trailers, Taskers of Andover (1932) Ltd. will now manufacture these at Skelmersdale as well as at Andover and Cumbernauld. The Skelmersdade factory is to be doubled in size and the labour force considerably increased.

Perkins Showing at Leipzig: The Perkins Group plans to exhibit a range of engines at the Leipzig Fair from March 6 to 15. These include the latest engine, the 170 b.h.p. V8.510 (the first vee engine made by the Group); the 43 b.h.p., three-cylinder 3.152, and other high-speed units.
